Making technology work for everyone. Apple products are designed with features to empower students of all abilities, backgrounds, or learning styles.
Everyone has the right to a quality education — an education that’s creative, collaborative and relevant. Apple believes technology can enable all students with every type of learning style. Every iPad, iPhone and Mac is built from the ground up to support all types of learners.
The existing features of iPad can help students with accessibility needs unlock content and learning activities like never before. All teachers interested in equity and inclusion should be aware of the iPadOS accessibility suite of tools. That’s why we include these features in the eLearning Program at the School of Education of the University of Adelaide, where we raise pre-service teachers’ digital and pedagogical capabilities hand in hand.
Walter Barbieri The University of Adelaide
Teaching students to access the Accessibility features on their devices has been a game-changer in the classroom, increasing student independence as they leverage tools like Speak Selection, Highlight Content and Typing Feedback to access learning tasks in ways that best suit their needs.
Angela Norman St Peters (Boys) College, Adelaide
The fantastic Accessibility features on iPads allow all students to engage in powerful learning. Features such as ‘Spoken Content’ and ‘Voice to Text’ have enabled my students with dyslexia to feel empowered with their learning and engage with the class tasks. My students are encouraged to personalise their Accessibility Features such as text size, to their own learning needs. The iPads have taken my ability to differentiate to all learners in my class to the next level.

Apple believes every student has the right to a quality education — an education that’s creative, collaborative, engaging and relevant. And technology can enable and allow all students, with every type of learning style, to explore and open new doors to possibilities.
Apple’s approach to accessibility is different from many other companies. Accessibility is part of the hardware, software and operating system design process so it’s an integral element of the user experience. The breadth and depth of accessibility features have been built to address a wide array of special needs and help students who experience challenges with vision, hearing, motor skills, and learning and literacy.
