Reconciliation Action Plan

Acknowledgment of Country

Compnow acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of the land on which we gather, live, and work. We recognise their continuing connection to land, water, and community. We pay our respects to Elders past and present – they hold the memories, the traditions, the cultures, and hopes of First Nations Peoples around the world.
As we continue our reconciliation journey together, we strive for equity, justice, and respect for all cultures, identities and histories. Let us lean into our mutual strengths with curiosity and harmony, acknowledging the rich tapestry of knowledge and the ongoing resilience of First Nations peoples.

A Message from our CEO

Adam Blacklock, CEO

The Compnow way informs everything that we do – being remarkable, creating connections, every voice counting, and doing what’s right.

At Compnow, we see the uniqueness that each of us contributes to enrich our workplace and the communities in which we engage. We create connections where every individual feels valued, respected, and empowered. We celebrate the full potential of every team member, fostering an environment of collaboration and opportunity. Valuing diversity helps us to innovate, grow and be even more successful as a business.

Since our early days, Compnow as an organisation has had a social conscience. We have been working with a variety of different community organisations for many years in order to help create positive change at the grassroots level.

Along our Reflect RAP journey so far, we have been able to gain a better understanding of the impacts of our actions. The framework of the Reflect RAP has enabled us to better understand the power of reconciliation and where we can best direct our energies in order to contribute to positive change for our First Australians.

We have learned things about ourselves as an organisation as well as individuals during the first part of our reconciliation journey, and this Reflect RAP formalises a long-term commitment to striving for equity, justice, and respect for all cultures, identities and histories.

Our Journey

This artwork tells the story of Compnow’s ongoing journey, grounded in reconciliation, innovation, and meaningful community connection.

The arch-shaped motifs represent the people at the heart of Compnow: employees, partners, and the broader communities they serve. These forms speak to unity, collaboration, and the shared strength of walking together.

Embedded within the central circles are Compnow’s core values: Be Remarkable, Create Connections, Every Voice Counts, and Do What’s Right. Placed at the centre of the piece and surrounding the larger circle that represents the organisation, these values underpin everything Compnow does — shaping how they work and how they walk alongside community.

In the outer corners of the artwork, ripples flow out from the central values. This ripple effect symbolises Compnow’s growth from humble beginnings as a family-run Apple store in 1993 to becoming a national leader in IT solutions. Just as a single drop creates far-reaching ripples, Compnow’s actions and ongoing commitment to their ethos continue to inspire positive and lasting impact.

Through the creation of this piece, I’ve had the privilege of working with a team who truly live their values. Compnow’s openness, patience, and deep respect throughout the process made space for the artwork to grow in its own way. Their thoughtful support has not only shaped the journey of this piece, but also shown why genuine understanding and meaningful reconciliation are so important.

At its heart, this artwork reflects Compnow’s commitment to reconciliation: a journey of respect, inclusion, and responsibility. It is a reminder that innovation is strongest when guided by ethical values, and that real progress happens when every voice is heard.

Kenita-Lee McCartney

Kenita-Lee McCartney is a strong Wemba Wemba, Wiradjuri, Wotjiboluk, Neri Neri and Boon Wurrung woman and a proud kuyinggurrin (mother) of three pembemgguk (children).

Her connections run deep to the saltwater on the Peninsula, the rivers in the North-West and the mountains in the North-East.

For Kenita-Lee, her artwork is a process of healing and self care, an outlet that allows her to express her emotions and share her experiences. Her artwork captures a moment in time, connecting deeply with her ancestors, people and Country. Her use of vibrant colours is striking and keeps her culture strong for her pembemgguk (children) as she connects to those stories that have been woven throughout her family for many centuries.
